I have a love/hate relationship with my computer but most of the time - sadly enough, it is my best friend.  It is an escape into the gaming world when the real one is making me crazy, a tool to stay in touch with my friends and family, an inexpensive means to brush up on an existing skill or learn a new one, and THE way to stay up on the latest and greatest geek favorites!

Having not grown up in a computer friendly household, I am sad to say my first experience using one was in my mid-twenties.  Now - I can't get enough.  I started in the networking side of the industry, learning to stage IOS and do network validation testing and circuit rolls... the list goes on.  Still, it wasn't enough.  I was tempted by the dark side and jumped headfirst into the world of programming and development and loving every minute of it!

While I can openly embrace my inner geek and admit that I love it ALL, (Ok, maybe with the exception of Oracle... I just can't find any affection for it...), I must also admit my favorite has been designing and developing web pages using Joomla or JSP.  Its fun, it makes me crazy at times, but super rewarding!  Since I’m also called a "geek with a personality", I find that I am not one of those programmers who you hide in a small coat closet of an office and occasionally throw Monster's and Twinkies in through a small opening, as to not allow too much of the dreaded daylight in.  I like to talk to those I'm working with, find out what they like and don't like, make adjustments and improvements that make the end users happy.  I LOVE what I do!
